This policy explains how PickTrip handles information when you use our website, iOS app, AI travel tools, collaboration features, maps, checkout, and related services.
1. Overview
PickTrip helps travelers plan trips, collaborate with trip mates, view routes, use AI travel tools, and book or manage travel products. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and what choices you have.
This policy applies to the PickTrip website, iOS app, and related services that link to this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account information: name, email address, profile image, sign-in provider, account identifiers, authentication state, and preferences you choose to save.
Trip content: itineraries, destinations, travel dates, notes, comments, to-do items, invite links, collaboration roles, uploaded files, and editing activity.
Location information: current location, map position, nearby context, meeting points, route context, and optional live location sharing when you enable location features.
Media and files: photos, PDFs, documents, images, screenshots, and travel proof files that you choose to upload, import, attach, or save.
Voice and audio information: microphone input when you choose voice trip creation, voice AI, call, or audio features.
Purchase and checkout information: traveler details, contact details, cart items, order records, payment status, provider references, fulfillment details, and support information.
Device, diagnostics, and usage information: device type, operating system, browser, app version, IP address, locale, currency preference, crash diagnostics, app logs, request metadata, pages or features used, and interaction events.
Communications: messages you send to PickTrip support, feedback, waitlist submissions, survey responses, and other communications with us.
3. How We Collect Information
We collect information directly from you when you create an account, plan a trip, upload content, make a booking, contact us, or change settings.
We collect information automatically when you use our services, such as device data, log data, diagnostics, and usage events.
We may receive information from service providers and partners, including authentication providers, payment processors, travel suppliers, analytics and diagnostics tools, maps, AI providers, and cloud infrastructure providers.
4. How We Use Information
Provide, maintain, personalize, and improve PickTrip services.
Create, sync, display, and share trips with collaborators you invite or join.
Operate AI trip planning, trip import, voice, note, route, meeting, and collaboration features.
Show maps, routes, nearby context, meeting points, optional location sharing, and navigation-related context.
Process carts, checkout, travel bookings, order support, refunds, fulfillment, and payment status.
Send account, security, trip collaboration, order, reminder, and service notifications.
Troubleshoot bugs, analyze reliability, prevent abuse, protect accounts, detect fraud, and enforce our terms.
Comply with legal, tax, accounting, payment, safety, dispute-resolution, and regulatory obligations.
5. Payments
Payment card details are handled by Stripe or other payment processors. PickTrip receives payment status, payment intent references, booking records, and related fulfillment information, but does not store full payment card numbers.
Travel bookings may require us to share order and traveler details with travel suppliers, fulfillment partners, or payment processors so the booking can be completed and supported.
6. Device Permissions
Camera: used to scan trip invitation QR codes and let you capture travel photos for trip content.
Microphone: used only when you start voice trip creation, voice AI, calls, or other audio features.
Photos and files: used when you choose photos, documents, PDFs, or other files for AI planning, imports, notes, trip content, or travel proof records.
Location while using the app: used to show your map position, nearby suggestions, routes, meeting points, and optional trip sharing.
Background location: used only when you enable live trip location reporting so travel partners can see your latest shared position.
Notifications: used for trip collaboration, reminders, order updates, service alerts, and account events.
You can change device permissions in iOS Settings at any time. Some features may not work without the related permission.
7. Sharing Information
We do not sell personal information.
We may share information with service providers that help operate PickTrip, including hosting, storage, authentication, analytics, diagnostics, maps, AI services, payments, push notifications, communications, and support tools.
We may share trip content with collaborators when you join, invite others to, or otherwise share a trip.
We may share booking-related information with travel suppliers, payment processors, and fulfillment partners when needed to complete or support a booking.
We may share information if required by law, legal process, safety needs, fraud prevention, security investigations, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of PickTrip, users, or others.
We may share information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
8. Cookies And Tracking
Our website and services may use cookies, local storage, pixels, SDKs, and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, analytics, diagnostics, performance, and product improvement.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some technologies may affect login, preferences, analytics accuracy, or site functionality.
If we use advertising or cross-app tracking technologies that require additional consent under applicable law or platform rules, we will request that consent where required.
9. International Processing
PickTrip and our service providers may process information in countries where we or they operate. Those countries may have data protection laws different from the laws where you live.
When required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual commitments with service providers or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
10. Retention
We keep account and trip information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
We may keep limited records after account deletion when required for legal, tax, accounting, payment, fraud-prevention, safety, support, security, or dispute-resolution reasons.
Uploaded files, order records, logs, backups, and diagnostics may have different retention periods depending on the feature, legal requirements, and operational needs.
11. Account Deletion
You can start account deletion from the Account screen in the PickTrip app. Deletion removes your sign-in account, clears local app data, and removes or scrubs visible account profile information from active account surfaces.
Some information may be retained where required for legal, tax, accounting, payment, fraud-prevention, safety, security, support, or dispute-resolution reasons. You can contact us if you have questions about deletion or retained records.
12. Your Rights And Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information.
You can update certain account information in the app, change device permissions in iOS Settings, disable optional location sharing, and unsubscribe from non-essential communications where available.
To make a privacy request, contact us at team@picktrip.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
13. Children
PickTrip is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information to us, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
14. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, authentication, monitoring, and operational security practices.
No internet or electronic storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
15. Third-Party Links And Services
PickTrip may link to third-party websites, maps, suppliers, payment processors, or other services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.
16. Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice by updating this page, showing an in-app notice, sending an email, or using another reasonable method.
